What if…

Bitcoin were easy to understand? What would you do?

  • Buy some?

  • Teach others about it?

  • Nothing?

What if you suddenly realized Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and the blockchain were one of, if not, the greatest inventions of all time? Would you:

  • Use it?

  • Try to get a job in the space?

  • Invest in it?

This is my story.

I first heard about Bitcoin in 2011 and had a chance to build a Bitcoin miner with a good friend. I passed, because I didn’t understand it. But I spent the next year and a half learning it. When I finally understood it, I was ready to act. And I did (with my wife’s blessing) in 2013. I invested a substantial amount. I came up with rules based on what I read about investing and what I understood about Bitcoin. And I mostly stuck with the rules.

But a funny thing happens once you hit your goals and get what you want, your motivations shift. Goals change. This is what happened in 2017 when Bitcoin first went to $20,000. It’s the first time I felt a burden to help others with Bitcoin.

Since 2013 I’ve taught people about Bitcoin and evangelized its current and future potential. However, I still hear people the same things…

Here’s what people say that keeps me up at night:

“Bitcoin’s a scam. I’m staying away.”

“I don’t get it, and I never will.”

“Can someone please explain Bitcoin to me?”

“Bitcoin’s in a bubble.”

“Bitcoin has no intrinsic value.”

“I just bought a ton of Dogecoin. Do you think it was a good idea?”

“How high is Bitcoin going to go?”

“What do you think about X coin? Should I buy some?”

“Is Bitcoin for real?”

“I started trading and I’ve made a ton of money.”

I concluded…

“Bitcoin is too important, too significant of an invention, for everyone in the world to not have a basic understanding of it and to make an informed decision about what to do with it.”

So I decided to do something about it: make Bitcoin easy. And I think I did it. I named it: Making Bitcoin Easy. I’ve taken all that I’ve learned and done, all the thousands of hours I’ve spent watching it, learning it, teaching it, reading about it, using it, trading it, investing in it, and I put it all in one e-course. I made it in such a way that my 70 year-old mother can understand it. I figured if I couldn’t easily explain it to her so she could get it, then I’d failed. But she understands Bitcoin a lot better now. And I’m hoping I can help the world like I helped her.
